BERTRAND Shawn Michael Bertrand was taken before his time on Friday, February 25, 2011 at the age of 38. He was a native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. Shawn was employed by Ceres Gulf as a diesel mechanic and was a member of the ILA Union #2036. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Bridget Bordelon Bertrand. Father of Angelina and stepfather of Lauren Munster. Son of Gerald W. and Joy F. Bertrand. Brother of Tina M. Jilbert. He is also survived by his grandson, Luke and nieces and nephews. Family, friends, members of the ILA Union, and employees of Ceres Gulf are invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Kenner Funeral Home of L.A. Muhleisen and Son, 2607 Williams Blvd., on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Shawn was such a wonderful and funny guy and he was always smiling and had such a big heart. He was a car guy for sure. He always was ready to help you out and help you when you needed a hand with something. His time was definitely too short here. It was an honor knowing him and having him as a friend. He will be greatly missed. We love & miss you Shawn!!!
