Joseph Thomas "J.T." Gracianette, passed on to the great race track in the sky on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at East Jefferson Hospital after a brief illness. JT was born in New Orleans to the union of the late Lillian McDonnell and the late Warren Maurice Gracianette. Raised in Lakeview, he attended Warren Easton High School and Delgado Community College, receiving a degree in refrigeration and air conditioning technology. He honorably served in the US Marine Corp reserves. His first love was always drag racing, he was a lifelong member of the N.H.R.A., winning his first trophy at Biloxi Dragway in 1965. His second love was his family; son, Jay Gracianette, Jr. and daughter, Shannon G. Stansbury (Ryan). His life will be celebrated, and honored by his grandchildren, Mason Warren Morise, Taylor John Morise, Cannon Joseph Morise, Callie Isabelle Stansbury, and Sophie Lynn Gracianette; along with the multitude of friends J.T. made over the years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:30AM. Interment will be private.
